2025 Ford Escape - The 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E vs. the 2025 Ford Escape: Electric vs. Gas Crossover Comparison

Performance

2025 Mustang Mach-E

Whether you need a crossover for daily commutes or weekend adventures, both the Mustang Mach-E and the Escape deliver power for all needs. The electric model boasts a standard 73 kWh battery paired with rear-wheel drive for 264 horsepower and 387 lb-ft of torque. When paired with the dual-motor AWD, the same battery produces 325 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, or you can opt for the 88 kWh battery to get 370 horsepower.

An even larger extended-range battery with a capacity of 91 kWh comes standard on the GT and Rally trim levels, providing 480 horsepower and up to 700 lb-ft of torque for exhilarating performance on asphalt and dirt paths alike. This electric crossover also boasts a generous range of up to 320 miles per charge, depending on the powertrain configuration.

2025 Escape

The gas-powered Escape also lets you choose between various powertrain options. Standard on the entry models, a 1.5L EcoBoost I-3 engine pumps out 180 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque, but you can opt for the available hybrid engine on most trim levels to get 192 horsepower combined. A bigger 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 engine is also available, delivering 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.

Exclusive to the uppermost trim level, a plug-in hybrid powertrain blends gas and electric performance, bringing the best of both worlds. This engine delivers 210 horsepower combined, 155 lb-ft of torque, and 37 miles of electric-only range for a total range of 570 miles.

Interior and Technologies

Both the Mustang Mach-E and the Escape are compact crossovers with seating for up to five people. Inside the Mach-E, ActiveX seating surfaces come standard, giving a sporty look to the cabin. The SYNC 4A infotainment system pairs with a 15.5-inch center touchscreen and comes with a wealth of standard features, including SiriusXM with 360L.

The Escape features unique cloth bucket seats at the front, while ActiveX upholstery is available. An eight-inch center touchscreen running the SYNC 4 infotainment system is standard, but this interface also comes with standard SiriusXM with 360L and other exciting features, including Wi-Fi hotspot capability and connected services.
